In standard Eastern Armenian, ուր is used to indicate direction of movement, while որտեղ (orteġ) is used to indicate location (e.g., ո՞ւր ես գնում (u^?r es gnum) (“where are you going?”) vs. որտե՞ղ ես (orte^?ġ es) (“where are you?”)). However, this distinction is usually ignored in everyday speech in favor of ուր for both senses.
