  1. to apologize [with עַל]
  2. (biblical, outdated) to strip, to take off from oneself.
    • Tanach, Exodus 33:6, with translation of the American Standard Version:
      וַיִּתְנַצְּלוּ בְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת עֶדְיָם מֵהַר חוֹרֵב:
      wayyit̲naṣṣəlû b̲ənê yiśrāʾēl ʾet̲ ʿed̲yām mēhar ḥôrēb̲
      vayitnats'lú v'néi yisra'él et edyám mehár khorév
      And the children of Israel stripped themselves of their ornaments from mount Horeb onward.
