נָדָל • (nadálm (plural indefinite נְדָלִים)

  1. centipede (any arthropod of class Chilopoda, which have a segmented body with one pair of legs per segment and from about 20 to 300 legs in total)
    • a. 500 C.E., Babylonian Talmud. Chullin, 67b.41:
      מרבה רגלים ־ זה נדל
      marbé ragláyim - ze nadál
      Whatever has many feet - that is the centipede
