     شد آخر عمر من دردا شب هجران نشد آخر
     ز جانم این غم و اندوه بیپایان نشد آخر

     šud āxir umr-i man dardā šab-i hijrān na-šud āxir
     zi jānam īn ġam u andūh-i bē-pāyān na-šud āxir

     My life has come to an end, and alas! The night of separation has not come to an end;
     This endless grief and worry has not come to an end in my soul.
