Etymology
Corrupted from Middle Persian [Term?] (/byarš/), borrowed from Avestan [Term?] (/byaršan/). The corruption was possibly an attempt to relate the name to ارمن (arman, “Armenia”), in order to present the ruling house of Armenia as descending from Kay-Qubad.[1]
