Feminine of بھان٘جا (bhāñjā, “nephew”), from Prakrit 𑀪𑀸𑀬𑀡𑀺𑀚𑁆𑀚 (bhāyaṇijja) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀓- (-ka-), from Sanskrit भागिनेय (bhāginēya).[1][2]
