Inherited from Proto-Turkic *toŋ-. Cogante with Turkish donmak, Kipchak toꝯ.

Verb

تُنْكْماقْ (tunkmʾq /⁠toŋmaq⁠/) (third-person singular aorist تُنْكارْ (tunkʾr /⁠toŋar⁠/))

  1. (intransitive) to freeze
    سُوڨْ تُنْكْدٖیsūv tunkdī /suv toŋdï/ ― the water froze
  2. (intransitive) to freeze to death
    اَرْ تُنْكْدٖیʾar tunkdī /er toŋdï/ ― the man froze to death
