Etymology
From زنبه (zımba, “punch, puncheon; stapler”) + ـلامق (-lamak, suffix forming infinitives from nouns or adjectives).

- (transitive) to punch, to employ a punch to create a hole in or stamp or emboss a mark on something
- (transitive) to staple, to secure stacks of paper by penetrating all the sheets and curling around
