ستیزه
Persian
Etymology
Inherited from Middle Persian [Book Pahlavi needed] (styck' /stēzag/, “strife”), derived from [Manichaean needed] (‘styz /stēz-/, “to quarrel”), from Proto-Iranian *staiǰ-, ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *(s)teyg-. Doublet of تیز (tiz, “sharp, quick”). By surface analysis, ستیز (setiz) + ـه (-e).
