Inherited from Prakrit 𑀲𑁄𑀳𑀡 (sohaṇa), from Sanskrit शोभन (śobhana). Cognate with Pahari-Potwari سوہݨا (sohṇā) and Saraiki سوݨھا (soṇhā).
