Borrowed from Arabic طَبَرِيَّة (ṭabariyya), from Ancient Greek Τῐβερῐᾰ́ς (Tĭberĭắs), from Τῐβέρῐος (Tĭbérĭos) + -ᾰ́ς (-ắs), from the name of the Roman emperor Tiberius.
