Borrowed from French feston (“festoon”), itself from Italian festone (“festoon, scallop”).

- festoon, a carved ornament depicting a wreath or garland, complete with flowers, foliage, or fruits and suspended by ribbons
- scallop, one of a series of curves, forming a wavy edge similar to a scallop shell, especially in furnitures, knitting and crochet
