Borrowed from Armenian փնթի (pʻntʻi, slovenly, untidy), from Middle Armenian փնթի (pʻntʻi).

Adjective

پنتی • (pinti)

  1. stingy, miserly, mean, tight-fisted, unwilling to spend, objectionably cautious with money
    Synonyms: پیس (pis), جمری (cimri), خسیس (hasîs), ناكس (nekes)
  2. slovenly, shabby, unkempt, scruffy, habitually careless or negligent with regard to appearance
