Etymology
From پیره (pire, “flea”) + اوت (ot, “grass, herb”).
Noun
- fleabane, any of various species of plants in the genera Conyza, Erigeron and Inula, that typically repel insects
- psyllium, fleawort, any herb of the species Plantago psyllium, whose seeds are supposed to resemble fleas
