کونکول
Chagatai
Etymology
From Proto-Turkic *köŋül (“heart, mood”).
Noun
کونکول (köŋül) (plural کونکوللار)
Usage notes
كونکول is one of the nouns which undergoes elision in the second syllable when attached to possessive suffixes. So كونکول becomes كونکلوم, كونکلى, etc.
كونکول is also used somewhat figuratively in adjectives such as كونکلی قرا ("mean", lit. "black-hearted") and كونکلی اق ("kind", lit. "white-hearted"). As expected, the described entity is put into the genitive case to match with the possessive suffix of كونکلى.
