ܒܫܲܝܢܵܐ • (b-šaynā)

1. hello, welcome (usually in response of ܫܠܵܡܵܐ (šlāmā))
2. you’re welcome (said when one is thanked) as a reply to ܬܲܘܕܝܼ (tawdī, “thank you”) or other thanking
3. nice to meet you

   Synonym: ܚܕ݂ܹܐ ܠܝܼ ܒܚܙܵܝܬܘܼܟ݂ (ḥdē lī b-ḥzāytūḵ)

4. here you are (said when you hand something over)

   Synonym: ܦܲܩܸܕ݂ (paqqiḏ)

A fuller form of this phrase is ܒܫܲܝܢܵܐ ܘܛܵܒ݂̈ܵܬ݂ܵܐ (bšaynā w-ṭāḇāṯā, “In peace and goodness”).
