ܟܸܪܝܵܐ • (kiryā) (feminine ܟܪܝܼܬܵܐ (krītā), plural ܟܸܪ̈ܝܹܐ (kiryē))

1. short, curtailed (having a small distance between ends or edges)

   ܡܲܥܒܪܵܐ ܝܠܹܗ ܓܸܫܪܵܐ ܟܸܪܝܵܐ ܥܲܠ ܢܲܗܪܵܐ.

   maˁbrā ìlēh gišrā kiryā ˁal nahrā.

   The crossing is a short bridge over the river.

2. short, brief, quick (having little duration)

   ܬܘܼܦܵܩܲܢ ܝܗ݇ܘܵܐ ܒܚܲܕ݇ ܡܸܬܚܵܐ ܟܸܪܝܵܐ ܐܸܕܝܘܿܡ.

   tūpāqan ìwā bḥa mitḥā kiryā idyōm.

3. (formal) Used in the construct state, with a noun complement.

   ܒܲܟ݂ܬܵܐ ܟܪܝܼܬ ܟܵܘܣܵܐ ― baḵtā krīt kāwsā ― a short-haired woman

   ܓܲܒ݂ܪܵܐ ܟܪܹܐ ܕܸܩܢܵܐ ― gaḇrā krē diqnā ― a short-bearded man

4. short (of comparatively small height)
