Semi-learned borrowing from Classical Syriac ܡܐܬܝܢ, from Aramaic מָאתַיִן (māʾṯayin); compare Turoyo ܡܰܬ݂ܶܐ (maṯe), Arabic مِئَتَان (miʔatān), and Hebrew מָאתַיִם (matáyim).
