From Prakrit 𑀲𑀯𑀢𑁆𑀢𑀺𑀡𑀻 (savattiṇī), from 𑀲𑀯𑀢𑁆𑀢𑀻 (savattī) + 𑀇𑀡𑀻 (iṇī), the former component from Sanskrit सपत्नी (sapátnī).
