Inherited from Sanskrit ऊर्णा (ūrṇā). Cognate with Assamese উণ (un), Odia ଉନ୍ନା (unnā), as well as Hindustani اون / ऊन (ūn), Punjabi ਉੱਨ (unna), Nepali उन् (un). Doublet of ঊর্ণা (urna) and উল (ul).
