Cognate with Hindustani पीढ़ी / پِیڑھی (pīṛhī), Marathi पेढी (peḍhī), Punjabi پیڑھی / ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ (pīṛhī), Sindhi پيڍِي / पेढी (peḍhī).
