ཞིམ་པོ
Ladakhi
Noun
ཞིམ་པོ (zhim po)
Tibetan
Etymology
Benedict derives this from Proto-Tibeto-Burman *dz(y)im. Cognate to Burmese ဆိမ့် (hcim.).[1] However, this is invalidated by cognates like Kurtöp ལེམ (lem, “to be delicious”), which indicate descent from Proto-Bodish *lim instead.
Adjective
