From Proto-Karen *g-rjaᴬ (“hundred”), from Proto-Sino-Tibetan *pV-rja(k) (“hundred”). Cognate with Eastern Pwo က်ုယာ (kə jà), Pa'o Karen ရျာꩻ (rya), Burmese ရာ (ra).
Numeral
ကယၤ • (ka yā)

Usage notes
A number must precede the word to express hundreds, for example, တကယၤ (ta ka yā, “one hundred”).
