စော်ကား

Burmese

Etymology

Though treated by MED as an atomic unit, a surface analysis as စော် (cau, stench) +‎ ကား (ka:, to spread out) appears plausible, i.e. "to spread out a disagreeable smell" > "to air out one's annoyances" > "to insult".
