Cognate with Bwe Karen bli, Eastern Pwo ဖၠီ (phlì), Pa'o Karen တဖြွီꩻ. Luce (1985) provisionally lists ပျံၤ as a "pure" Karen word whose origin cannot be traced outside of the Karen languages.
