ងងឹត

From Proto-Mon-Khmer *ŋut ~ *ŋuut ~ *ŋuət ~ *ŋit (“dark”).

From -ងឹត (-ngɨt, “dark”) with reduplicated initial. This base is only found in derived forms. Compare រងឹត (rɔngɨt), ល្ងឹត (lngɨt).

2. to be blind, having poor vision
3. to be ignorant
