ᨭ (ṭa)
- The 19th letter and 11th consonant of the Tai Tham Pali alphabet. In Pali it represents the voiced, unaspirated retroflex consonant /ʈ/, written <ṭ> in the Roman script.
- Pali ᨣᨶ᩠ᨵᨠᩩᨭᩥ (gandhakuṭ'i, “fragrant room”)
- Northern Thai ᨠᩫ᩠ᨭᩉ᩠ᨾᩣ᩠ᨿ (kòtmǎai, “law”)
Usage notes
In the modern vernacular languages, the letter represents the plain dental consonant /t/. The distinction between ᨭ and ᨲ is purely etymological.
