Sandhi of 打(ぶ)ち (buchi, “hitting”), the 連(れん)用(よう)形(けい) (ren'yōkei, “stem or continuative form”) of the verb 打(ぶ)つ (butsu).^[1]^[2]

The buchi- becomes bun- when prefixing a verb that starts with an n or m sound.

ぶん流(なが)す (bunnagasu): to flush something with force; to be done with something, to wash one's hands of something
ぶん殴(なぐ)る (bunnaguru): to whale on someone or something, to slug or wallop someone or something
ぶん投(な)げる (bunnageru): to throw something really hard
ぶんのめす (bunnomesu): to knock something down with force
ぶん回(まわ)す (bunmawasu): to turn or rotate something with force
ぶん回(まわ)し (bunmawashi): a compass (device for drawing circles or measuring, archaic); a rotating stage
