Compound of 口(くち) (kuchi, “mouth”) + 溶(と)け (toke, 連(れん)用(よう)形(けい) (ren'yōkei, “stem or continuative form”) of the verb 溶(と)ける (tokeru, “melt”).). The toke changes to doke as an instance of rendaku (連濁).
