     赤(あか)は革(かく)命(めい)で流(なが)された血(ち)、白(しろ)は国(くに)の明(あか)るい未(み)来(らい)と平(へい)和(わ)、黒(くろ)は過(か)去(こ)の圧(あっ)政(せい)を表(あらわ)し、この３(さん)色(しょく)でアラブ統(とう)一(いつ)の願(ねが)いを象(しょう)徴(ちょう)。

     Aka wa kakumei de nagasareta chi, shiro wa kuni no akarui mirai to heiwa, kuro wa kako no assei o arawashi, kono san-shoku de Arabu tōitsu no negai o shōchō.

     Red is for the blood shed during the revolution, white for the country’s bright future and peace, black for the past tyranny, and all of these three colors are a symbol of the wish for Arab unity.
