満天星

Originally a compound of 灯台(とうだい) (tōdai, “lighthouse”) + 躑躅(つつじ) (tsutsuji, “rhododendron; azalea”), with tōdai eventually shifting to dōdan. The kanji are jukujikun (熟字訓), from Chinese 滿天星 / 满天星 (mǎntiānxīng, “baby's breath, Gypsophila paniculata”).
