  古来(こらい)の通説(つうせつ)に従(したが)えばクグツは一種細(いっしゅほそ)い縄(なわ)を以(もっ)て編(あ)んだ袋(ふくろ)の事(こと)で、傀儡(くぐつ)の漢字(かんじ)とは直接(ちょくせつ)の連絡(れんらく)はない。
  Korai no tsūsetsu ni shitagaeba kugutsu wa isshu hosoi nawa o motte anda fukuro no koto de, kugutsu no kanji to wa chokusetsu no renraku wa nai.
  According to the age-old prevailing view, a kugutsu is a type of bag woven from thin rope, and it has no direct connection with the kanji of 傀儡.
