Etymology

From Proto-Semitic *liőān- (β€œtongue”). The reconstruction as /laΕ‘anu/ is based on the syllabic cuneiform spelling π’†·π’Š­π’‰‘ (la-Ε‘a-nu) found on the text of the Syllabary A Vocabulary.[1]
