𐎰𐎠𐎡𐎥𐎼𐎨𐎡𐏁
Old Persian
Etymology
A vṛddhi derivation of the adjective *θigraka-, itself from *θigra- (“garlic”) + *ka- (hypocoristic suffix).[1]
Palatalisation during the derivation of *θigraka- from θāigračiš occurred on same pattern as during the derivations of Ākaufačiyā- from *Ākaufaka- and of Mačiyā- from *Maka-.
