Etymology
Probably from Proto-Turkic *-elim. Suffix -елік (-elık) is a synonymous intermediate form, which is not used frequently in spoken Kazakh. Change of -m to -k might be because of the influence of the first-person plural past tense suffix -к (-k). Cognate with Nogai -ейик (-yeyik), Kumyk -ейик (-yeyik), Tatar -әйк (-äyk).
Suffix
-ейік • (-eiık)
