  1. a suffix used as ending or sign of the second or accusative case

Usage notes

-ని and can be used as an ending for the accusative case. The vowel was harmonized with the preceding vowel, -ని used after the vowel and used elsewhere. In modern usage, they are used relatively interchangeably, however is still never used after the vowel sound. In addition, accusative pronouns (such as నన్ను, నిన్ను, and మమ్మల్ని) use either or -ని exclusively. In dated poetry, the vowel was optional, however -న్ is no longer used in modern Telugu.[1]
