First attested as Middle Korean -ㄴᄃᆞᆯ (-ntol) in the Yongbi eocheon'ga (龍飛御天歌 / 용비어천가), 3:13a[1], 1447, from -ㄴ (-n, past of realis adnominal suffix) +‎ ᄃᆞ (to, semantically light noun) +‎ -ᄋᆞᆯ (-ol, accusative case marker).
