Suffix
-라니 • (-rani)
- alternative form of -다니 (-dani), used in the environments where -라 (-ra) is required. In particular, always used after the stem of -이다 (-ida, “to be”, copula), whether present or elided, and its negative 아니다 (anida, “to not be”).
- Used other than figuratively or idiomatically: see -라 (-ra), -니 (-ni)— equivalent to 라고 하니 (-ra-go ha-ni).
- Post-vowel and post-liquid allomorphic form of -으라니 (-eurani)
