From Middle Korean -으〮리〮로〮소〮녀〮 (-úlílwóswónyé), through Early Modern Korean -로소냐 (-lwoswonya​), -ㄹ소냐 (-lswonya). Ultimately a combination of Middle Korean suffixes -으〮리〮- (-úlí-, irrealis suffix) +‎ -롯〮- (-lwós-, emotive suffix) +‎ -ᄋᆞ녀 (-onye, yes/no question suffix).
