    Borrowed from Dutch -isme and English -ism, ultimately from Ancient Greek -ισμός (-ismós). Attested in the Kitab Vortaro published in 1923.[1] Formerly used in the forms -izem/-izam and -isma in Malaysia,[2] although the latter form is still found in some "-ism words" that refer to entities such as prisma and organisma.[3]
