Etymology

11 (11ho cha, 11th car) +‎ 타다 (tada, to ride). The first part of the word is a reference to how the legs of a person looks like the number eleven. Appears to be somewhat well known among younger North Korean defectors from larger cities. Compare Chinese 11路公交車 / 11路公交车 (shíyī lù gōngjiāochē).
