Cartan integer (plural Cartan integers)

1. (mathematics) Any of the scalar products ${\displaystyle a_{ij}=2{(r_{i},r_{j}) \over (r_{i},r_{i})}}$ that make up the Cartan matrix of a simple Lie algebra.
