- (with the) A river in Denbighshire, Wales, which flows into the Irish Sea near Rhyl; in full, the River Clwyd.
- A former county in north Wales, named after the river, which replaced Denbighshire and Flintshire in 1974, and which was abolished in 1996, being replaced by the new counties of Denbighshire and Flintshire and the county boroughs of Conwy and Wrexham.
