Etymology
Dinkidele (1246). Probably at least partially from Cumbric, from Proto-Brythonic *din (“fort”) + *koɨd (“forest”), with Old English leah (“clearing”) added later. Or else, the second element may be equivalent to Welsh celli (“grove”).[1]
