      Since no one took Francina’s words seriously, she began to scream for help and made so much noise that the emergency room’s ambulance and the police were called.

Usage notes

Brazil’s 1943 orthographic reform standardized the spelling as pronto-socorro, hyphenated and lowercase, but this was not always followed.
