From Proto-Sino-Tibetan *sV-ləp.

Chinese  / () may be compared here,[1] if Schuessler's Old Chinese reconstruction *s-ləp is accepted over Baxter-Sagart's.

This is yet another Bodish verb with *a ~ *o ablaut in Tibetan with non-Tibetic preserving an *o form.
