Proto-Bodish
Etymology
(This etymology is missing or incomplete. Please add to it, or discuss it at the Etymology scriptorium.)
There is another nigh-identical Bodish adjective, but with an unpalatalized initial, which gave rise to Tibetan ཐུང (thung, “short”).
Jacques further sees a potential link between this word and Tibetan སྨྱུང (smyung, “to reduce”) and ཉུང (nyung, “little”),[1] the latter being from *ŋʲuŋ.
Adjective
*tʰʲuŋ[2]
