Hill assigns Tibetan འཁྱིག ('khyig, “to bind; suffocate”) here while STEDT assigns it to Proto-Tibeto-Burman *(g/k)(y)i(t/k) (“to tie, bind”). The Tibetan word may be a conflation of the two verbs.
