Reconstruction:Proto-Tungusic/beye
Proto-Tungusic
Etymology
Borrowed from Proto-Mongolic *beje (“body”)[1][2]. Compare Mongolian бие (bije, “body”), Buryat бэе (beje, “body”)
EDAL considers the Northern Tungusic descendants as a cognate to Proto-Mongolic due to sense of "man", while the rest of languages should be probably regarded as Mongolisms.
