Etymology 2
Blend of Russia + Americano; From Russian, from English Americano, from Spanish americano, from Italian caffè americano, from being a version of the usual cup of American coffee. From the political climate in Russia and anti-Americanism. Folk etymology credits the coinage to Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev in Russian in 2016, however, this is not correct, as the term already predates this, in Russian and in English.
